Our farm is in the heart of picturesque Bucks County Pa. We have 11 acres and have a variety of animals we care for here. Our farm is home to horses, donkeys, peacocks, chickens, geese, turkeys along with a pair of Karakachan dogs. These unique and rare breed are best known as livestock guardian dogs that originated from Bulgaria. They are also known as the Bulgarian Shepherd. They were first brought to the USA in 2004. These dogs are not AKC registered but American Karakachan Dog Association ( AKDA). They were bred to watch livestock in the Bulgarian mountains so they had to be intelligent, tough, and quick thinking.
These dogs are hardy and hard working and alert. They bond closely to their family and especially children. This breed is not excessive barkers or wanderers like some other livestock breeds.
Our puppies will be registered ( AKDA), microchipped, vaccinated, DNA on parents, and vet checked.
We welcome inquiries on this very unique breed. More pictures or videos can be provided on particular pups.
