Many years ago, mini poodles were highly skilled at retrieving waterfowl and were put to work to do just that. Today of course, while mini poodles are not used for hunting, they still retain their love of water and swimming! Unlike many other dogs, poodles actually have hair and not fur. One of the many advantages of owning a mini poodle is that their hypoallergenic curly coat often traps loose hair, reducing shedding in the home.
