Description

“All set to be spoiled, social, and seriously adorable—meet your new puppy!”  I am a York-Chon puppy! I was born on June 13th and I will be ready for my forever home on August 8th! I have been family raised on a mini farm in the country around children.  I have had my shots and dewormers. I have been checked by a veterinarian and microchipped. For more information or to schedule a visit with me, please contact Marlene Monday through Saturday. All Sunday calls will be returned on Monday. My Mom is Jenny a 9lb Bichon and my Dad is Kody a 5lb AKC Yorkie. I will come with a quart sized bag of my current food. This charming, inquisitive, and delightful breed is a mix between a Yorkshire Terrier and a Bichon Frise.  The Yorkie-Chon originated in the United States about 20 years ago and became more well known about ten years ago.  This affectionate, amusing, comical, and devoted breed loves people and attention, and loves to be the center of that attention.  This breed is very sociable but early socialization is imperative or they can exhibit a nervous disposition when older.  They have a tender and sensitive temperament, but can also suffer from separation anxiety, and it would be important to have lots of toys for them when left alone.  Yorkie-Chons are great for apartment living and are resilient in any living arrangement, and are also good for families with children.  Though they are energetic and lively, they do not require a lot of exercise, maybe 30 minutes a day. The Yorkie-Chon has a thick and soft coat which does require routine brushing to avoid matting and to alleviate excess hair on the floor.  It is vitally important to maintain the fur behind their ears to also avoid matting.  This breed’s coat does not hold onto dirt or debris which aids in their low grooming requirements. The breed is typically 9-12 inches tall, usually weighs 6-8 pounds, and commonly has a lifespan of 10-12 years.
